Billing

CoreBase pricing has two parts: a flat monthly plan (features and limits) and a prepaid usage balance for AI calls. You can skip usage charges entirely by bringing your own LLM keys.

How AI usage is billed

Every chat turn runs in one of two modes, chosen automatically:

• Your own keys (Bring Your Own Key) — inference runs on your provider account. CoreBase adds no per-token charges; your balance is untouched.
• Platform balance — no key configured? Requests run on CoreBase’s managed models and are billed from your prepaid balance at the published per-model rates.

Published rates

Requests are routed quality-first across frontier Claude models. Each turn is billed at the published rate of the model that actually served it — the full rate table lives in Billing → Model pricing in your panel. Rates include our margin; what you see is what you pay.

What a query typically costs

Costs scale with how much work the agent does — a simple question is one model call, a deep data question can be many steps (schema lookups, queries, follow-ups). At current published rates: Your own real numbers — average and 90th-percentile cost per query, measured from your actual usage — are shown in Analytics → Cost.

Tracking spend

Analytics → Cost answers “what is this burning?” from real usage data:

• This billing period — spend aligned to your renewal date, plus a projected period total at your current pace.
• Per team member and per widget visitor — who is using AI, how many turns, at what cost.
• Per model — which models served your traffic and what each cost.
• BYOK estimate — using your own keys, CoreBase bills nothing; an optional toggle shows an estimated cost at provider list prices so you can still attribute spend internally.

When your balance runs low, the dashboard warns you before responses pause.

Balance and top-ups

• Paid plans include monthly usage credit: $5/month** on Growth, **$15/month on Team. Free includes a one-time $1 trial credit.
• Top up any amount from $5 to$500 in the billing page. Purchased credit never expires.
• Included credit is spent first, then purchased credit.

Plans

Unified Context — the schema annotations and business glossary that ground the agent in your data — is included in every plan. Tier differences are volume (data sources), included usage credit, and enterprise controls (RBAC, audit log, air-gap).

Starting a subscription

In Billing → Plans, click Switch to Growth or Switch to Team. You’re redirected to a secure hosted checkout. Once paid, your plan flips within a few seconds.

Managing your subscription

Click Manage subscription in the billing page to open the customer portal. From there:

• Switch between Growth and Team
• Update payment method
• Cancel (you keep access until the period end)
• Download invoices

Refunds

Subscription cancellations take effect at the end of the current period — no proration. Purchased top-up credit is non-refundable but never expires.
